Hay thar bb
Who: Sakura, Hinata, Konan, Tenten, Neji,[OPEN]
What: School supply shopping
Where: OfficeMax, Staples, one of those kind of stores
When: August 12th, 2:00 PM
Rating: PG-13

The wheel squeaked, and Sakura was about ready to shove the shopping cart she had chosen into a wall of binders, her patience at an all time low. But she managed to grit her teeth and bear it, trying to ignore the few patrons that would glance at her as they passed her by. Her hand grabbed a box of college-ruled binder paper before she tossed it into her cart, for a moment, the incessent squeaking of the bad wheel halted.

"I can't believe school is starting already," she mumbled to herself. The summer went by too fast for her taste.

All of her classes were taken care of, all she had to do was wait for her books to get sent in and deal with the shopping she decided to deal with today. The cart was pushed again and the sqeaking started again. Sighing heavily and forcefully, she started to wander into the direction where she could get those bubble-in slips of paper she would probably need.

[OOC: It's a bird! It's a plane! No it's- Sakura!? Ohaygaiz. I'm alive, and I finally posted. -whimpers- Don't hate me ;n;)
12th-Aug-2009 10:52 pm (UTC)
Hinata wandered through the aisles of the supply store, picking up a few things for classes as she went. A pack of mechanical pencils, a stack of post-it notes, a small planner, a pack of paper. She misplaced the list she wrote out, and was hoping that by traversing the lanes that she wouldn't miss anything she needed to pick up. An incessant squeaking nearby kept her from focusing, though. Trying to ignore the noise, she mentally named off what she picked up already. That's right - she should pick up scantrons.

Turning the corner, she nearly walked into the path of the very cart causing the noise. "Excuse me," Hinata said, looking up. Pink hair? "Oh, Sakura?"
13th-Aug-2009 02:11 am (UTC)
For a few moments she just blinked, not expecting anybody she knew to be shopping at this time too. "Hinata!" she finally blurted, feeling like an idiot for just staring. "Sorry," she laughs nervously, and then lets out her words in one breth. "I wasn't really...this is a surprise."

She didn't think about the fact that she wasn't the only one who had to go to school. Stop acting like a goddamn idiot! She tells herself.

"How was your summer?"
13th-Aug-2009 12:57 am (UTC) - Have a Koko~ >u>
With school about to start again, Konan headed towards the office store to pick up supplies. More notebooks, more paper, maybe replace her old and worn out messenger back with a backpack or something. It was her day off and she was slowly learning to how to go outside without her cello (thanks to Pein).

She was looking through the notebooks when she accidentally bumped into a pink haired girl.

"I'm sorry," she apologized, her voice like a tiny bell.
13th-Aug-2009 02:21 am (UTC) - Daw she's so cute ;u; -clingsto-
It was almost too tiny to hear. At first Sakura thought she was hearing things, but she saw the blue hair, just as bright as her pink.

"Not at all!" her hand waved off the slip-up. Although should be the one apologizing since she had nearly sent her cart crashing into the female. Heat started to slowly gather in her cheeks as she cleared her throat and then bent down to pick up the few things that had spilled to the floor from her lack of attention.

"This cart is so annoying," she grumbles as she grabs as a folder and then puts it in its rightful place. It seems to make a protesting squeak when she bumps into it and sends it forward a few inches.
13th-Aug-2009 06:38 pm (UTC) - ;u; isn't she? *hugglesnuggle*
"It's alright," Konan said in her quiet voice. She looked around shyly for a solution to the pink haired girl's problem with the cart. She noticed that the store had reusable shopping bags and handed one to the girl.

"This should be easier to use," she said with a tiny smile.
13th-Aug-2009 11:49 pm (UTC) - TuT <3
Well, why didn't she think of that? Taking the offered bags, she gave the female an embarrassed smile and started exchanged all of her items into the new 'cart.'

"That's better," she sighed. And then with nothing else to say- "I'm Sakura," the bag shifted around as she held out a hand. "Thank you for your help."
15th-Aug-2009 04:08 am (UTC) - :'3 <3
"I'm Konan...are you a student at the University as well?" the shy blue haired girl asked.

She was never good at meeting new people and it was times like this where she really really wanted to cling to the handles of her cello case like a security blanket.
15th-Aug-2009 11:22 am (UTC) - c:
"One of them, yeah," she smiles.

Her bashfulness was easy to notice, and Sakura tried to find something else easy to talk about. Her eyes tried to peer inside her bag for something to use, but the contents were similar to her own. Just papers, pens, essentials for school.

"So, um, you have any fun hobbies?"
17th-Aug-2009 03:13 am (UTC)
"I'm a cellist for the Konoha Philharmonic," Konan replied. It was more of a profession than a hobby, really, but she loved playing the cello, no doubt about it.
19th-Aug-2009 06:33 am (UTC)
"Ohh!" That was almost like a celebrity, right? The name seems familiar. She didn't even know she was standing in the midst of a musician. Well, at any rate she wished she had a talent like playing an instrument or being creative like that. The most she could do was easily memorize things.

"That's really cool," she says earnestly. "So it must be kind of stressful being a musician and going to school right?" Then again, not everybody juggled a workload like she did as well as working part-time.

Sometimes she wondered how she did it too.
13th-Aug-2009 12:48 pm (UTC)
Tenten was standing in front of the backpack display, desperately searching for a new messenger bag as hers had suffered greatly from the last semester. A basket of supplies lay at her feet, for she had already completed the majority of her shopping. Neji would be so proud of her - actually doing her school shopping before her classes actually started.

Hearing a squeaking noise, she turned slightly in the direction of the sound. A pink haired girl about her age seemed to be having issues with a noisy shopping cart. Her eyes moved towards the other two girls standing nearby, instantly recognizing Neji's cousin and the blue haired girl from Hidan's party.

Momentarily forgetting her mission to find a new messenger bag, she wondered if she should fight back her shyness and introduce herself.
13th-Aug-2009 12:59 pm (UTC) - yay 1010! this tag is kinda weird cos sakura's doing 3 things at once but..heehee no prob :D
Feeling eyes staring at her, Sakura looked in the direction of the nearby collection of backpacks. Maybe she could pick one up for Naruto since he had been using the pack with one strap since they had had to that study session together. An early birthday present or something. Back to school gift?

But it wasn't the backpacks that had caught her attention, rather the brown doe eyes looking in her direction. She offered a kind smile and a small wave, not knowing what else to do if she was being looked at.
13th-Aug-2009 01:24 pm (UTC) - ^_^ ten is being horribly shy
Tenten blinked in surprise when the pink haired girl waved then blushed slightly when she realized she had been caught staring. Smiling shyly, she waved back, figuring it was the polite thing to do.

Giving up on finding a messenger bag, she picked up her basket and headed over to the three girls. If all else failed, she still needed notebooks which just happened to be in that area.

"Ah...hi." she replied softly before taking a deep breath. "University students as well?"
13th-Aug-2009 01:32 pm (UTC) - Awww cute :3
The smile widened as the brunette joined them. "I am," she nodded before laughing quietly. "Kind of a coincidence that we all decided to go shopping on the same day, right?" A finger tapped her temple gently.

"Great minds think alike."

Green eyes then shot down to the basket the new female had in her hand and she eyed it enviously, much more quiet than her squeaky cart, before looking up again. Sakura wasn't horribly social, but she was polite. So she searched for something to say rather than just stand there awkwardly.

"So what are you majoring in...ah, sorry, I didn't get your name."

Real smooth.
13th-Aug-2009 01:44 pm (UTC) - Re: Awww cute :3
"That they do."

Noticing the girl eyeing her basket, she chuckled. "They were out of shopping carts..." she answered before turning her gaze to the squeaky cart that the pink haired girl held on to. "...which from the sounds of it was probably a good thing."

She turned her brown eyed gaze back towards the girl and smiled. "Tenten." she introduced, shifting her basket and holding out her hand politely. "And I'm majoring in History...you?"
13th-Aug-2009 01:53 pm (UTC) - Re: Awww cute :3
"No kidding," she sighed, wishing she had gotten here later so she wouldn't have to grab this stupid, annoying cart. Idly, she poked it with her foot.

Returning the smile, she gently took the offered hand. "I'm Sakura, it's nice to meet you." Why did TenTen sound so familiar? "I'm aiming to get my PhD in medicine," her smile turns a bit more exasperated as she lets go, more at herself than anything. Talking about how long she was going to be in school didn't sound appealing.

She knew.

"Oh, wow, anything in specific or just general?"
13th-Aug-2009 02:06 pm (UTC) - Re: Awww cute :3
"Medicine...wow." Tenten couldn't help but looking impressed. As much as she enjoyed learning, she didn't think she would be able to stay in school that long. Even with Neji at her side to help her study.

Her eyebrows rose at the girl's name. Sakura. How fitting. Her hair did remind Tenten of cherry blossoms now that she took a good look at her.

She tilted her head and smiled softly. "Specifically the Medieval era." she started. "My father is a weapons merchant so I've always been fascinated with those aspects of history. I hope one day to work at a museum or something equally boring." she joked.
13th-Aug-2009 11:57 pm (UTC) - Re: Awww cute :3
Tenten was a nice girl, and she had a feeling she could be friends with her if given the chance.

Laughing slightly, she nodded her head. "Wow, you know, most students have no idea what they want to be in life, but you seem to know exactly what you want." All she knew was she wanted to be a doctor, the field is what she was confused with.

Looks like the cart wasn't the only thing she was envious of. "Do you start school in September like me? I know some schools are a little different."
14th-Aug-2009 01:51 am (UTC) - Re: Awww cute :3
She had the decency to blush. It wasn't the first time someone had told her that. But she could honestly say that ever since she was a little girl, she had set goals for herself...goals that she still worked towards to this day.

"I suppose I do." she laughed, running a nervous hand through her hair. "...that's odd, isn't it? A nineteen year old with her life already planned out."

Shifting the basket to her other hand, she smiled and nodded. "I do. I go to the local university...starting my second year." She tilted her head curiously. "Where do you go to school?"
15th-Aug-2009 01:07 am (UTC)
Her hand covered her mouth to hide a smile as she saw the blush. A sensitive subject? Well, they could move on from that.

"Of course not," her hand dropped from her mouth to reveal a reassuring smile. "I wish I had my life planned out as thoroughly as you."

"Me? Well, I go to the state university a couple hours up north, and then the medical center on certain days for hands on training." That was the farthest she had planned her life, and it would work for however long she was in school. So she had quite a few years to decide.
15th-Aug-2009 01:51 pm (UTC)
Tenten laughed. "Well sometimes having your life planned out has its downfalls." she joked quietly. "Especially when it throws you a curveball." she added, her chocolate brown eyes darting towards Neji, who had just joined them.

She then realized that she really liked Sakura and could be friends with her if given the chance. So she did something very un-Tenten like. She dug around in her messenger bag, finding a blank notecard and pen, scribbling her name, number and email address on.

"Here..." she replied, handing the card to Sakura. "If you're back in town and want to hang out, feel free to call."

16th-Aug-2009 02:54 am (UTC)
"True," she agreed giving her a wry smile as she followed her line of sight to Neji. It was so subtle, she almost missed it. Ah, now she understood. She wouldn't say a word if Tenten didn't want her to know. Her observation was just much better than others.

Plus, she had seen that look before.

Her smile turns wider and brighter as she pulls her wallet out of her bag and tucks the card in a pouch safely. "Yeah, definitely," she nodded. "The medical center is actually nearby the local university, so I'll be around." A green eye winks and she puts her wallet back in her bag.
16th-Aug-2009 09:04 pm (UTC)
Tenten smiled slightly at the girl and nodded, unaware that Sakura had caught the glance towards the dark haired boy nearby. "Well, it was nice meeting you, Sakura." she replied softly, her brown eyes focusing on the girl in front of her, determined to not look at Neji anymore.

"I really should be going as I have a jujitsu class to get to." She reached down and grabbed a few notebooks, tossing them into her basket before giving Sakura a friendly smile and wave. "Hope to hear from you soon and good luck when school starts."

With a nod towards the blue haired girl and Hinata, she turned around and headed off towards the registers, breezing past Neji as if he wasn't there.
19th-Aug-2009 06:41 am (UTC)
"Ah, yeah," she sputtered, waving and smiling back at her. "We'll get together soon. It was nice meeting you too."

Her brow furrowed as she watched her walk away, almost stiffly. Had she done something wrong? Well, if they did get together again, maybe she would find out.

A sigh escapes her as she continues her shopping and catching up with the others.
13th-Aug-2009 02:22 pm (UTC)
Determined to finish off all his school related errands today, Neji hurried into the school supply store. Looking around, he was disappointed with the amount of people who had the same idea he did, hoping that he would still be able to find everything he absolutely needed.

Pens. He would get his pens first. The kind he always got. Neji headed towards the pens, wondering how many he should pick up - he always went through so many pens, and this term was going to be no exception, afterall he probably would have so many papers to write.

Arriving there, he grabbed only a couple, figuring he could always come back at a later time. Looking around deciding what else he needed, he spotted some familiar faces. Tenten was in here, talking to a girl with pink hair. 'Good...' Neji thought, 'She needs to a girl friend to hang out with.'
14th-Aug-2009 12:04 am (UTC) - Party at staples hurhurhur
She didn't know what it was about today, but it seemed she was more privy to eyes looking at her than she usually was. Maybe it was because the group of people hanging around the scantrons was steadily growing bigger.

When they weren't paying attention, she glanced to the side and saw another shopper looking over to where they were. What? She didn't have the squeaky cart anymore. But upon closer inspection, she noticed it was Hinata's cousin.

"Oh! Hi Neji!" she blurted out. Maybe he came with Hinata.
14th-Aug-2009 02:35 pm (UTC) - Re: Party at staples hurhurhur
Neji narrowed his eyes, looking closer. Oh! It was Sakura! He hadn't realised. Best go over and say hello to everyone. He wandered toward them quietly. "Sakura," he nodded in greeting, "Hinata," and again. "Tenten," and again - though he wondered if he was supposed to greet her differently, now since they were more than just friends. But truth be told, he felt a little embarrassed to do so... even though they probably wouldn't be able to tell. His eyes fell upon the blue haired girl, he hadn't been introduced to her, but had seen her at the party. "Neji," he said simply, holding his hand out to shake hers.

"Getting school supplies?" he asked generally, knowing that clearly they all were. He wondered why Tenten didn't ask him to come with her.
14th-Aug-2009 02:49 pm (UTC) - Re: Party at staples hurhurhur
Tenten's eyebrows rose at the casual manner Neji addressed her in but chose to say nothing. Instead, she kept the smile on her face even though it was now bordering on forced, nodding her head slightly in acknowledgment. She should have known better than to expect anything different from him - he had always been nonchalant about everything.

She watched quietly as he introduced himself to the blue haired girl, whose name she still didn't know. With a soft sigh, she started flipping through the notebooks.
15th-Aug-2009 01:02 am (UTC)
How funny was it that they had all decided to show up here at once? Now all they needed was the rest of them to show up as well and it could be like one of those parties that Naruto was constantly trying to get her to go to, except no booze.

"Wow, this is such a weird coincidence," she commented. "It's like some outside force all gathered us here or something, haha." She laughed a little and then realized how dumb that sounded and trailed off.

"Yeah, school shopping," a heavy sigh escaped her mouth. "The summer went by too fast."
17th-Aug-2009 02:50 pm (UTC)
Oblivious to Tenten's look, Neji kept his eyes on Sakura and nodded in agreement. It WAS a coincidence that everybody had shown up in one place. "Outside force called college." he joked - though no-one probably knew he was as he didn't even smile slightly.

"What did you do this summer?" Neji asked, he didn't really care to hear, but figured he'd better be polite. Going through his mind was his mental shopping list of all the school things he had to get, since that was more important than Sakura's summer.
19th-Aug-2009 06:38 am (UTC)
She laughed a little nervously, not knowing what to do because his expression remained blank as ever. Was it a joke?

"Oh, well I..." better keep it simple. Neji didn't seem like a person who wanted to hear about her problems anyway. She sighs. "Not much really, I was just at my parents the whole time. Felt like a kid again the way my mom takes care of me."

"You do anything fun?" Hopefully. He probably needed it more than she did.
23rd-Aug-2009 02:58 pm (UTC)
Neji nodded in acknowledgement, not really saying anything. He couldn't remember what it was like having parents, so he wasn't about to pretend he knew what Sakura was talking about.

"Yeah, my summer was pretty good." He'll leave it at that. No use blabbing about himself and Tenten.
25th-Aug-2009 02:37 am (UTC)
Geez, sometimes talking to Neji was like talking to a wall, and a nervous sweat starts on the back of her neck as she laughs nervously. Well, at least she had gotten him to talk at all. That must count for something.

"Oh, that's good," she nods, shifting her bags idly and looking around. "Sounds like you had fun." Her throat clears slightly and she works up to ask the question she wanted to.

"So...does Tenten not like you or something?"
26th-Aug-2009 03:41 pm (UTC)
"It was okay," Neji replied, he guess he had had fun, it could have been worse. He could have had to spend it with Hiashi like he was ordered to last summer, but overall he had seen Tenten the most.

Neji blinked, he was shocked Sakura just came out and asked that, but she probably couldn't tell. "What are you talking about?" It was in fact the complete opposite, and Neji was confident in knowing that.
28th-Aug-2009 12:38 pm (UTC)
He wasn't the only one shocked, though it was much more visible on her face, face flushing and eyes turning to saucers. Had that really come out of her mouth? She sputters and fumbles, flustered, before collecting herself. "Well, I...not to be rude, I mean," she quickly amends, trying not to bow in apology.

It really was none of her business, but Tenten seemed like a nice girl. And if Neji had done something to hurt her...

Still, none of her business. What the hell could she do anyway?

"I'm sorry, I'm probably just reading too much into it," yeah. Maybe she really did just have that class, or wanted to go home and rest and the timing was bad. Speaking of home...

"I better finish up shopping for school before it gets too late." She had embarrassed herself enough already. "It was good to see you again Neji."
29th-Aug-2009 04:20 pm (UTC)
Reaching out, Neji grabbed Sakura's wrist to stop her from leaving. He wanted an explanation. "Tell me what you mean." He tried not to sound so demanding, but Sakura couldn't just come out and say something like that, then not explain herself. Maybe Tenten had said something...

"Did Ten say something about me to you?"

Letting go, he stared waiting for an answer. If she really did need to go, well he offered her the chance.
30th-Aug-2009 10:25 pm (UTC)
She didn't really need to go, she just figured it would be best if she walked away now before she stuck her foot where it didn't need to be. It was none of her business, yet here Neji was, asking her to elaborate on her accidental blurting.

And unnecessary.

"No, we weren't talking long enough for her to mention you," she said slowly and then turned to face him again. Her hand ran roughly through her hair, pushing the strands away from her face so she could look him in the eye. "I just noticed when you showed up and said hi to everyone, she tensed up."

"That's all." It wasn't anything big, however she tended to notice little things like that. She wondered what the hell possessed her to spout her thoughts like that.

"I'm sure it's nothing, but it... wouldn't hurt to ask her if you two are friends." Might as well tell him the rest of her thoughts on the matter- if she was upset, she would want someone for comfort.
2nd-Sep-2009 12:56 pm (UTC)
"Oh.." Neji replied, a bit taken aback. "That's weird." It was more of a statement to himself than to Sakura. Had he upset Tenten somehow?

"Well... we're not exactly just friends," he said quietly, stopping there. Sakura could work out the rest.
2nd-Sep-2009 07:27 pm (UTC)
It took a moment, but she understood quickly. "Oh, oohhh." So that's what was going on. She had her suspicions, but she didn't want to assume anything. But looked like she was right. Neji was Tenten's boyfriend.

"Well," she started. "I hope things turn out okay, but you should ask her what's wrong."

"That way you can find out how to fix it, and maybe it'll help her get it off her chest."
3rd-Sep-2009 02:04 pm (UTC)
Neji sighed suddenly, wondering what he had done to upset Tenten, or even if he had in the first place. "Do you think I upset her somehow?" he asked, looking in Sakura's direction.

He wanted to admit to her he wasn't good at this, but didn't want to show her any weakness. Surely she knew what to do?
3rd-Sep-2009 03:06 pm (UTC)
"Ah, well," she felt like a cornered cat, and she furrowed her brow as she thought. Tenten seemed fine before he showed up, and even when she had caught site of him it was okay. Maybe after he said 'hi' to everyone? He wasn't overly friendly.

"Hm, maybe when you greeted her, she was expecting something more than everyone else. If you two are...going out that is." Other than that, it must be something outside their meeting in here. Sakura wasn't a love couple's Guru, but she was incredibly observant. "I'd feel a little left out if my boyfriend didn't treat me differently from people he knew."
9th-Sep-2009 05:22 pm (UTC)
[ooc- sorry for taking so long, I apparently fail at life sometimes T_T]

Crap. Neji didn't greet her specially, of course! "We are, I'm just... no good at this kind of stuff I guess." He let out a big sigh. He should have paid more attention.

"What do you think I should do? She's probably really annoyed at me..."
9th-Sep-2009 10:42 pm (UTC)
(OOC: Aww, it's no prob! c: We all have lives~)

Sakura smiled nervously, feeling a little out of place because of his open admittance. "It's okay," she said, trying to be placating. Tenten probably wasn't expecting Neji to be the perfect boyfriend anyway.

"Just talk to her about it," she said firmly. He wasn't going to get anywhere if either of them just ignored it. Clearly it bugged the girl. "Being in a relationship is about good communication."
13th-Sep-2009 04:06 pm (UTC)
Neji nodded. Sakura was right. He would make a mental note to talk to Tenten sometime. "Thanks Sakura," he replied simply. She should know how much that meant, seeing as he didn't go around thanking people for no reason.

"Anyway, I better buy these, and get back and sort things out, I'll catch you later." He held his hand up to wave slightly, then wandered off to pay for his things.
13th-Sep-2009 09:35 pm (UTC)
"Ah sure," she fumbled, not expecting a thank you from the stoic Hyuuga. "Glad to help."

The sooner he fixed it the better, it was probably pretty smart on his part to talk to Tenten as soon as possible. "Good luck," she smiles, lifting her own hand and waving.

Hopefully things went okay. She sighed and continued her shopping, mumbling. "Still haven't gotten pencils..."
